I look at it this way: if you combine the recent price drop WITH a BluRay player, isn't that double the incentive to buy one? I mean, with a number of people agreeing that you'd buy a PS3 just for the BluRay player, the addition of a player to the '60 would just make the PS3 that much less attractive.
Granted though, I see points being made about games NOT coming out in this format, sort of difficult to argue that. But if you think there isn't a benefit to having a BluRay playe...
