lol yeah that happen to me too and tried to get off and prevent him from jumping it but i let him fall to the pit and what i did was runn and jump to the land below it and walked up

oh i had that temporarly problem like an hour ago i thought i did something wrong so i exited game then went back into the game still nothing then i turn the 360 off then on again started the game and it was working
or it could be that it just happen to be back up in time :P lol
