Couldn't agree more. I loved the part in Halo3 when it got a little bit darker (attack of the floods) and almost felt like a survival horror game because you had to watch your ammo of the flametrower or otherwise it would become difficult (you can play the game on easy too, but that's boring). Putting more of it in the game would definatly add more fun in part 4 (or Peter J. project)
There was no price cut in July. But still I don't trust Pather. Wait for NPD numbers
The game was overhyped and got way too many 10/10s. I didn't fall into the hype and so I liked the game. As you said it's not the GOTY 2008 but it was pretty good IMO (well worth my 60€)

finish all puzzles and you'll be able to get up the ladder and go to the last level. I don't want to spoil but you'll understand the story a litlle bit more after finishing it

Nah chainsawing was too easy in Gears 1. You can just trow a smoke grenade to a place with a gun and run into it with the chainsaw. It'll aim automatically on the enemy. Also you have enough time to chainsaw someone if he's using the machine-gun because you need quite a lot hits to die
