I agree and far cry 6 whenever it comes out better not have this outdated choice again. It was a thing back in the day when developers didn’t have the time or money to record lines for the main character but nowadays that’s not an excuse. I mean nothing pulls me out of a game more than a character talking to me especially if it’s something dire or important and I’m standing there like an idiot not saying anything it’s just so jarring

For example I really liked the order 1886 but I’m not some blind fanboy who will say it’s great because it’s not it’s an average game about as average as you can get but I liked a few things about it and enjoyed myself. I’m not going to pretend it was anything other than average and that’s ok.
Yes I think people know how metacritic works bro. You don’t get a 59 on metacritic unless your game is shit and most of the reviews are bad which crackdown 3 reviews are so yeah it’s not rocket science.

I hate how people think those scores can only be for broken games and it’s the reason way so many people think 6 or 7 scores aren’t games worth playing. How many games actually come out nowadays so broken that they would even justify using those numbers? Pretty much none and once people quit only using the scale from 8 to 10 the better off reviews will be. If I play a game that I think is mediocre but still had some fun and it did some cool things to where it feels like I didn’t waste my time...

The answer to your question is because both of those companies are not being run well by leadership. Konami even last gen was mostly known for just mgs and pes and with Kojima gone they don’t know what to do with metal gear so they haven’t been a bastion of single player for a long time. Activision might have had token campaigns for COD until the most recent one but ever since COD hit big they’ve been mostly focused on MP games with throwaway campaigns and token single player games with no ef...

Your argument is ridiculous because not every single player game is going to succeed just like not every mp game is going to succeed. We have had more single player successes than failures this gen to prove that single player is here to stay. Horizon,Spider-Man,gow,Uc 4,breath of the wild, Mario odyssey all did ten plus million while Detroit,ratchet and clank,bloodborne,infamous second son,killzone shadow fall,witcher 3,ac origins and odyssey,far cry 5 etc have all sold millions of copies too...
if anything it will come in the final mix which everyone can’t wait for because they’ve always made these great games even better
