You do know kotaku aren't the be all end all of opinions. I've read plenty of other reviews that loved the story and characters,said it has the best villain in a long time,the four main characters are awesome and you grow attached to them etc.
Dude a 7 is a good score and 8 is a great score not to mention since the embargo has lifted not one review has scored it below 8. It has an average of 86 on metacritic so no its not receiving mixed reviews not even close
Have you played it and if so your opinion isn't the be all end all so yeah in this reviewers opinion it is and he's not wrong

Well watchdogs 2 is an excellent game and now that word of mouth has spread the games sales did rise in the UK which makes me happy because it deserves to be played

8 is a good score and I easily see most reviews scoring the game in the 8 to 9 range with the odd 10 while finishing in the high 80s on metacritic.

Lol dude the climbing,combat and stealth mechanics have Def evolved since uc 1 especially the combat and stealth.
