BUT even with all that, it's voice acting and story are top notch. Uncharted remains my favorite game series of all time.

They don't get paid until the game is sold, this allows retailers to drop the price when they see fit. It had to be cleared with the publisher if they'll except the price and % decrease. But it's why you see discounted pre-orders and games dropping prices soon after release.
