that sure does sound interesting, having only one life would wind me up though. might keep away from it till i have a few more clips.
Just looking at some of the artwork makes me really wish i hadn't traded in my PS3! It looks fantastic! I might have to save up and grab a cheap PS3 to play that game.
I must admit, i really like the look of this game. I've been waiting for another game that is as in depth as Bad Company was in terms of story, and this seems to bring it right home. Not being from america, i don't get that sense of patriotism, but it is still a pretty awesome concept for the game. I can't wait to get my hands on it, and this review has really swayed me. Especially with the multiplayer.
I'd have to agree with you. I'd rather play games on the NGP because of it's graphics capabilities and controls on the device. However, the 3DS will be so much fun to play. I'm probably going to end up getting both anyway.
I'm not sure how the 3DS has outsold the DS at this point. In terms of first day sales in Japan, it may have. But in terms of final sales, it's nowhere near what the DS and the Wii have sold yet. But i totally agree. the NGP will have to be something completely special and get some full on awesome developments for it to rise to the challenge in anyway. And with the 3DS getting over half a year head start, it's not looking good. Especially with Zelda out in June.
I personally think Nintendo will always stay on top with regards to the industry. They have the pulling power in the market to get the right developers to make the right games that are fun for everyone. Sony just don't seem to be able to do that. It's a real issue for Sony.
Cloud based systems can be useful, but you have to have the bandwidth to go along with it. It don't really see it as being an issue as both consoles come with pretty adequate space now anyway.
What you have to remember though, is that touch isn't the main form of gameplay and usually just an after thought. Also, the DS touch is different to the others. It's a separate touch interface.
Yeah, the multiplayer is awesome. I can't wait to play it fully and properly. Especially to get my rank up, and earn a load of stars in every fight. I'm not too sure about the single player yet. It'll be interesting to see how the story unfolds.
Mobile devices do have some potential at making good games, but I don't see hardcore gamers changing platform too quickly. And with classic titles coming to 3DS, i think you've nailed it on the head in terms of content being the key to success. But sheer numbers won't prevail.
That's where i'd have to disagree. I can't see many developers putting their funds into making a fully featured, action packed game on the iPhone or iPad due to it's lack of buttons. They are, in my eyes, in two different fields of market.
I think mine may have been GoldenEye 64. That games was almost too good. I spent so many hours playing that game, which than somehow lead to my obsession with pokemon. Which is still awesome, even today.
I'm not sure that title really works with the article. But i can see where you are coming from with it. A lot of people will wait for the 3DS to get those games, but you can easily complete the games in 3 weeks. So it's going to be a tough one to go on. And also, considering pokemon black and white are currently number 1 and 2 in the UK chart, it doesn't bode well for people waiting. Just saying.
There is only one thing to comment here. There is a difference between the iPhone platform and the DS/PSP platforms. You can't get any really good, extensive games on the iPhone, but you can get the really addictive, 10 minute games. There is no real "competition" here when you think about it properly.
I have generally disliked this game. I didn't get on too well with the first one. The controls were a bit odd on the xbox for my liking, and he moves a little too slow too. I have noticed a few improvements though. However, i'm branching into PC gaming more so i'll give it a go on there, and then maybe i'll enjoy it more. Who knows
I am really looking forward to this game. The story looks really well developed and the characters seem pretty real, like they are actually based on real people, you know?
I agree. I really liked the PSP for a while, but it sort of just died for me. The games were lame, the best game i played on it in a while was Crisis Core and i got addicted to it, but even that wasn't enough for me to keep it. Hopefully the NGP will prove to be a better handheld
Great article man :) Really am looking forward to getting hold of this game.
I must admit, it does look pretty sick. When i played it back in eurogamer last year, it was looking sick then. Can't wait to see the final product. Great review too, enjoyed it.
This game looks pretty good from that, and it's on a phone. Might finally have a good iPhone competitor in terms of on the go gaming!
