1080i and 1080p stands for interlace and progresive yes i do know the difference as i own a 1080p tv and it runs at 25 and it cost a sh*t load more than a 1080i does
as you said yourself it does look different on some hdtvs and its a big difference between a sony bravia and some lesser brand piece of sh*t dumb nuts
1080i cheap players is a bit like dvd verus hd dvd some customers will get screwed as the budget player is last gen already
1080p only should be sold as this adds to the confusion even more
blu ray for me theres so much content out there and the best is yet to come
