@Trooper so then you guys know he is only talking about their first party games and those 5 games specifically, right? Its a growing trend. Not saying every game that comes to PS4 is the same... mainly their first party stuff.
I don't see the appeal for Splatoon. Played Splatoon for the first time ever for the Switch on a test fire and it just wasn't fun to me. Just shooting ink around everywhere and then periodically fighting some other people.
Exactly. Someone who gets it and is not over exaggerating what is being said here haha
What he is saying and what the article is saying is that Days Gone, Uncharted, TLoU, Horizon all FEEL similar. The movements, controls, cinematic moments etc. feel very similar.
Yes, each have their own style and gimmick which is fine, but that doesn't stop them from feeling similar on a gameplay standpoint.
I'm not saying this is a bad thing, btw haha I just can see what they mean with those specific titles, not ALL Sony exclusives.
Did you watch the video? He clearly gives his examples and states the reasons he feels so.
Its not just those elements, its the overall feel of the games. I get what he is going for. They all play and feel very similar, but each have their own setting and style.
@Edmix
While I don't technically agree. I can see how the overall feel of the controls can make someone think it plays similar. Personally I think Horizon is more comparable to RotTR with the gameplay.
Edit: Which by no means is a bad thing.
A 2 paragraph article? Wtf?
The game looks fine, crackdown has never been about graphics considering it uses a heavy cell shaded art direction to simulate a comic book feel. The game looks a ton of fun and that's what mostly matters.
Agreed haha regardless ill be orb hunting on the 7th!
Crackdown has always been cell shaded.
I don't think they are avoiding talking about it because they have still confirmed numerous times it is still there. They are showing it again at gamescom, but I think they should have done the destruction cloud stuff at E3 and the single player trailer at gamescom instead of the other way around.
@timotim
Agreed, but I thought halo 4's MP was crap since they made it too much like CoD with orbital drops and load outs etc.
Sunset overdrive is one of my favorite games this gen, Halo 5 has one of THE best console FPS MP's, Ori is one of the best platformers this gen, QB tried something completely new... but yeah not one single good game came from MS this gen... /s
Why would I compare it to days gone? It's a completely different genre. But to tell you the truth I like SoD genre more so than the narrative driven style that Days Gone is going for. If you're JUST talking about graphics then yes obviously days gone blows it out of the water, but graphics ain't everything
Edit: also nothing has been developed for X1X... all these games have been in development long before the X1X had a dev kit...
Sod and SoD 2 isn't about graphics... if you played the first you'd know that... graphics ain't everything, champ.
So me being happy with the games Xbox is giving me is wrong and makes me a fanboy? Okee dokee then. I own all systems I don't care if one is going through a lull. Yes Xbox is going through a dry spell, but it wasn't that long ago the same thing happened to Sony and that's when the resolution gate happened because everyone was focused on 3rd party.
Yes Sony is killing it this first half of 2017 with amazing titles, but to say I can't enjoy the titles MS has a...
Arena MP is top tier. They nailed the MP in 5. Now hopefully 6 they nail the SP as well.
@notachance
State of Decay 2 is one of my most anticipated titles along with Cuphead and Crackdown 3 so speak for yourself kiddo. They may not be on the caliber of long running franchises like Zelda and Mario, but they are fine additions to the Xbox library and ecosystem. And honestly I couldn't care less, I'm a fan of games not platforms, I don't care if new people are coming in, I don't own shares in either company. As long as I'm getting games, I'...
@Tzuno
You guys act like its so simple, like cancelling Crackdown 3 would just automatically save Scalebound... smh
Crackdown 3 has been in development since this new gen, before Scalebound was even a thing, and since when is a 3rd game considered milking a franchise? gtfo.
Well exclusive deals are part of the industry now :/
