Just like anything it has to be optimized, probably coded...or it will hog the cpu, but if done efficiently, probably little over-head. Kind of like how that dude from Microsoft said there is no need for chip on Kinect to do tracking, can be handled by the Xenos.
I figure Sony will doing more updates (Minor updates) to combat any hacks, and so to cause inconvenience to those who are hacking, plus they'll make them all mandatory.

I don't expect huge numbers, i think it'll be a slow and steady sale...which is what I think sony is expecting and hoping.
it not a crisis in terms of sales of hardware ps3 will sell jail broken or not, it's the question of software.
Some people are greedy, they'll want as many games for free, even if they can't play that game (Some features) online. As well in other parts of the world, game prices are like double the prices as it's here, hence why piracy is more of a concern.

Right, he did state sales of Hardware would go up, but what about software...look at PSP, sales of the hardware have been decent, to good (in japan), however software not as much...especially states side.

So Sony better making lot of $$$ (profit) or sales of consoles...which atleast they are starting to do.
Imagine the scenario, if this console was hacked when sony was losing money on console...
Probably not in NA/Europe, but other countries, like South America, or like this place - Middle east, where consoles prices are already expensive, and each games costing the equivalent to $100 bucks or so...if you get a burned copy of a game for like 5-10 bucks, it can be dilemma.
