Hallelujah!! I was hoping for this! Gotta pre-order this at Best Buy ASAP to also get the novella.
He's dissing 3D TELEVISIONS. He pointed to the Virtual Boy as a 3D technology that did not require a TV. His belief is that television manufacturers are making access to 3D content more complicated and costly than it should be. If people are going to be wearing shutter glasses to watch 3D TV, why not build the TV into the glasses? It simplifies the 3D to one piece of equipment. That's why at the end of his article, he shows the picture of the girl wearing the red glasses and states th...
Yeah, I understand what you mean, fathoms. A lot of people were let down by Final Fantasy XIII (personally, I put over 100 hrs. into it and got my Platinum trophy). A lot of people wish Square-Enix was the same company they were in the 90's, making the same quality of games as back then but with our current level of technology. And we all know Square-Enix is capable of making such a game. Anyone who's played some FFXIII can attest to the quality of the technical side of the game - the...
@R_aVe_N: Last I checked, Lost Odyssey is:
1. Good (actually, it's GREAT). It made me feel like I was playing a classic Final Fantasy, particularly FFVI.
2. HD (XBOX 360, 720p), the graphics are quite beautiful.
3. Turn-based.
4. JRPG - Mistwalker is a Japanese developer headed by the legendary Hironobu Sakaguchi.
Please explain your comment that LO is not close to that definition.
I just wonder if there's something lost in translation in Wada's comments and everyone's blowing what he's saying out of proportion. It sounded to me like Wada's talking about development teams, not gamers. In other words, Japanese development teams should work on making games that appeal to Japanese consumers (like traditional RPGs, etc.) instead of trying to make games that appeal to typical American/European consumers. Of course, a ton of US/EU love Japanese games becau...
Have you played Lost Odyssey?
I agree with pretty-much everything in the editorial, except for the writer's position that the only thing that should be changed are the visuals. If they're going to remake FFVII, in addition to Advent Children-quality graphics, I want a full-orchestra 5.1 soundtrack, complete voiceovers (and they better give us the choice of Japanese or English), a better translation, and some added depth to a number of the more vague plot points--maybe new side quests that add more to either the characters...
I'm pretty sure Microsoft has no fault or responsibilities in this situation. Sure, they offer Parental Controls, and as permutated put it, the bully could easily be blocked. If threats and bullying continue to escalate, I would get the law involved. It's not Microsoft's problem.
I think that a large portion of the fans overlap those segments and are going to get and enjoy both XIII-2 and Versus XIII. I am one of those fans.
