If the PSP2 has dual analog control, per the rumors and leak photos, then 2011 will be the year of the PlayStation for sure. I would love to take some FPS action portable next year, using the correct control scheme. Day one purchase for me....
#1 for me would be "Less Bugs".
I was surprised to see UFC and Enslaved even on the list.
@Mwaan
You may well be right. But as long as they offer those things that I mentioned, is that such a bad thing? Sony is throwing free (or rented, if you will) content at the PSN+ right now, because that is all they had to offer. But I truly believe that the other "services" will be coming in the next 12 months:
- cross game chat
- voice messages
- party system
- reputation system
- reporting system
- better...
So that means they sold 8 XBOX 360's this week in Japan?
You give the author far too much credit. :-)
Wow, this is breaking news! NOT....
I made the same point later on in the comments, but I did not see your comment until just now. Well said and true.
PSN is still not XBOX Live. But the gap is closing each update. And Microsoft is allowing game developers to "take away features", for example, COD:MW2. Party system, which I am PAYING FOR, is disabled if you want to play online. The pathetic justification was that people were using it to aid their still alive teammates (i.e. in S&D). Microsoft should NOT have allowed a game to take away a feature that I am paying for. And does anyone really think that stopped the cheating...
The Playstation Store is far, far easier to navigate than the XBOX Live Marketplace.
I am an XBOT. But even I subscribed to the PSN+ and I do NOT think it will fail. In fact, with the influx of pure profit/cash, I believe that Sony will now be able to dedicate more time and resources to improving the PSN service.
So while I don't see the value today, I do see the promise of better things coming down the road. If 1 million people subscribe, that's $50 million in one month going into the PSN infrastructure and the start of the PSN+. Next year, proba...
First it was end of the month (May), which has come and gone with no hint of the PSN Store. Now we hear rumors that it will be up by the end of the week.
But you get what you pay for ....
