Anyway, 720p is FINE for gaming. This goes for Ps3 and 360 both. I own a 1080p set (Tosh 62mx196) and even I don't think it's necessary for gaming...yet.
1080p is definitely good for movies, though.
to get a PS3 is because of great exclusive single player games(when they show up) - that's why I'm getting one. For my online MP experience, I'll go where I always go:
Xbox Live.

It'll be impossible to get a PS3 this year- for me, anyway. I'm not standing in line or camping out for one ****ing minute, and I'm not paying more than $500 for one. So no eBay for me.

I'm a huge GTA fan and if the content is compelling enough, I may have to get both versions.
They were referring to the two consoles, 360 and PS3, respectively. Meaning RE5(360/ps3), and DMC4(PS3) on next generation console(S).
DMC4 may very well come to 360, but if it does it won't have any connection with that.

Anyway, the biggest problem I have with the Sixaxis Of Evil is that there's no rumble. Well that and the analog stick placement. Parallel sticks SUCK, IMO. Hopefully a 3rd party PS3 controller will come out that mimics the 360 pad layout. I'll be rocking that one.
I tried for two hours to get into a game, but it just stayed at the "joining" screen forever. And even when it finally did put me in a room, I'd get kicked instantly.
So I said f*** it, and deleted the damn thing. The netcode is just atrocious. Even if I DID buy SC:DA(I won't), it would be for the SP alone.

I don't know, my opinion of the PlayStation 3 has been changing lately...I'm probably going to buy one, maybe next spring when HS and Lair come out.
Which I know sounds strange coming from me, since I've been pretty much anti-sony from jump, and VEHEMENTLY so. I'm just finding my contempt for the console subsiding over the past few weeks; I still hate Kenny k and Kaz H, though...
Considering how goddamn much Sony has hyped the "4D, Blu-ray, Beyond Hi-Definition, Next-Gen Start When We Say So" mantra, ad nauseum, HDMI or Component should be STANDARD on this P.O.S.
The end of the cable that plugs into the PS3 will be proprietary; it's not compatible with PS2.
I could see not packing in HDMI, but Component wouldn't cost one cent more than Composite; instead of a Red-Yellow-White cable, you make it a Red-Green-Blue cable and voila...well, you'd still need the Digital Audio Out, but just make it a dongle like the 360 HD Adapter...

haven't played it in months, but it was definitely a great game.
You guys really need a demo at this point to convince you about Gears? Didn't think so.
The full game comes out in a month. Go buy Double Agent when it comes out; should hold ya over till then.
