Microsoft is WELL on track to have Xbox 360s in over TEN MILLION households by the time P.o.o.S.3 gets delayed till Q1 '07. by the time it DOES ship next year, 360 will have sold probably 12-14 million.

idiot, xbox came out a YEAR later than PiS2. And Sony had big name recognition with PiSOne. The fact that xbox, at the time an unknown quantity in the console world, could sell 26 MILLION units in four years is quite an extraordinary feat.

when a casual gamer, lookin for a next-gen system, who doesn't goto forums, or follow E3, or any of that, anyway say he goes into Wal-Mart this fall..
He looks at Ps3 games, sees the price tag-$70-85, then he looks over at 360 shelf, and sees many of the exact same games(that are graphically IDENTICAL) for $60...add the fact he hasen't seen the consoles' prices yet....whats he gonna do?
Now multiply that situation 20 million times...it'll be very interesting this Xmas
