It's 8 player online, but there is no SP campaign co-op. There is a separate campaign for co-op.

kidding, but he does have a point. I think the less people get exposed to a game, the more "mysterious" it is, and so it has greater success. Good example is GTA4.

The reviewer is a biased idiot. I'm all for gears, but better multiplayer and story? Gears having a story? Are you joking? Better weapons? Honestly? Gears is definitely not a perfect game, but it's a damn good one. Yes in a way it's gear 1.5, but let's face it. Gear 1 is like a 9/10 game, gears retains absolutely everything from gears 1, except it adds a bit of colour, 2-3 new weapons and a slightly better story, then there's no reason it shouldn't get 9+.

Yeah I was expecting tons and tons of resistance 2 reviews, but gears 2 stole the show because it is technically a more popular titles and Microsoft's flagship (along with halo). But heck, looks like this game might be a worthy contender with gears 2. Also, LBP is quite nice, so christmas season looking fabtastic.

Who cares about #s, give me some good gameplay and a memorable story. I played the beta, not bad, not bad. Still seems like MP is a bit too hectic and the weapon and hit sounds are just not good. Co-Op is really fun, and the worst part about it is when it's over. I guess playing the same maps over and over again got a bit boring in the beta (Orik is just annoying, just trees, cabins and more trees, and Chicago isn't really interesting either). R2 won't be HUGE, but I think it separates itself...

What I meant was, you can't compare them because Gears wins hands down. I'll probably still get resistance if it's good, but just saying, there isn't much to compare when 1 game is much better than another (I've tinkered with the beta, it's probably representative of the final product, but not SP, so if you want you can criticize me for that).
Stop comparing Resistance 2 and Gears 2. Gears >>> Resistance. I'm a PS3 owner BTW. This is the only game that's making me consider an xbox 360. I'd probably get NG2, Fable 2 as well. Xbox owners are going to be happier this holiday season. I know us PS3 users have LBP and R2, but meh.

Debating whether to get this. FPS is generally painful on PS3 unless you have a mouse and keyboard (I'm really not used to the analogue sticks for aiming, and don't have hours and hours to learn). I'm not sure if it's Sony bending over for reasons of sensitivity involving Islam or preventing the wrong messages being sent in the game. For example, if an American reported the song had these phrases, such as "death to all..etc", wouldn't you think that Sony would recall it as well. I think the metal gear "solid" series is done, meaning that solid snake is done. There is no way he could make another story that goes back before MGS4 and delivers a bigger punch, because let's face it, MGS4 tied all loose ends and it was the mother of all MGS games.
