Great game. I forgot how sweet that music was. hahah
PS4Life
Cheaper hardware seems like it's the standard this time around. We'll be able to build better PCs on launch day. It all comes down to how well the services, features and games work together, because these systems won't be as strong in comparison to previous cycles.
The price was too high before, regardless of quality tech. Sony's price point coming into this cycle will be integral to their success. It's not negativity, it's speculation.
I don't know about 2/10 bad, but it's certainly not great.
Only review I've flat out felt was unethical was GamingBolts. There's no way in holy hell this game deserves an 8.5. Argue it till you're blue in the face, but aliens simply can't contend with all the quality content that comes out. 6 seems like a fair score.
I've been reading and hearing some pretty nasty stuff about Gearbox's development process for Aliens. Most of it is probably rumor, but I think it's safe to say this game was an afterthought, with all their other projects.
I don't mind the idea of compiling from an archive of interesting quotes, to see how the hype and tech was viewed in hindsight. Problem is that the quotes used, borderline useless.
Here are the video and screens for the game. As well as the pulled press release

I understand what you're saying and I certainly agree. However, there is always the factor of time. Being on N4G, we except the fact that getting news up quickly is important. Doesn't mean we need to be disingenuous, but that is one reality of managing content.
Rumors suggest that the IP was picked up, but not the team. Possibly someone thinks they can do the game more justice. It's sad, really. Darksiders games didn't get the credit they deserved.
Appreciate the article. As I'm sure you know, running a successful site is hard and requires a ton of work. Honest and original content should be a focus at any outlet, but the fact of the matter is that echoing press releases kinda comes with the territory as well.
I love this minimalist approach.
To be fair, "everyone" is referring to video game outlets. Most video game journalists have played so many iterations of FPS games (like Far Cry 3) and other common genres, that it's no surprise to be that many sites saw it as a breath of fresh air and gave it GOTY based on that. It doesn't have to be your GOTY and it shouldn't matter anyway. GOTY stuff is totally subjective and for the most part, lame.
These textures scream rush job! This doesn't sit well with me, having a slight interest in the game. It looks like a sloppy cash in.
While the title may be misleading, when you actually read, rather then comment in an ignorant rage, they tend to make sense.
What did it say it meant?
My first PC game was Monkey Island in the 80s. I'm by no means a stranger to point-and-click games. However, the difference between TWD and most of those games is gigantic. Its the way they use the genre. Not simply the genre.
Agree. This is typical for trying to get players all hyped for the game. Using 99% of the Xbox's capabilities doesn't mean much. If the system remained relevant for the next 3 years, someone else would find ways to compress and use the hardware more efficiently. It could be argued that first generation releases probably used just as much of the system. Just not as well.
Yup. Confirmed on Capcom's PR page for May 21st release :)
