I'm playing the game currently and it's actually decent for a free gacha game. The problem is that unlike other Nintendo mobile games, this one has zero brand recognition with consumers, unlike Fire Emblem Heroes, Super Mario Run, etc.
Most people likely don't even know the track record that Cygames has with making really good mobile games like Shadowverse and Granblue Fantasy, so really Dragalia Lost is banking on the Nintendo factor and the Nintendo factor alo...
Yes Kotaku, but is the game good?
A failure? From my perspective as a Day 1 player, no. I've still enjoyed the game, despite the flaws and the lack of content in comparison to its predecessor.
To call it a failure is a little rash. A mild disappointment at launch and all the way to Forsaken? That's a more fair answer, in my opinion.
I honestly don't think having a great FPS exclusive is all that rewarding when the market is already so over-saturated with all the multi-platform games (CoD, BF, Titanfall, Destiny, etc.) that are out there.
Having a home for the better adventure games, JRPGs, etc. is really helping Sony currently.
Anime's been pretty good, so if they were to ever localize it and not charge a ton for it, I'd look into it.
Highly suggest you folks take a peek at this game. If you enjoy fighting games like Mortal Kombat and Injustice, this is up your alley. Same kind of style, but mythical monsters like Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, Imhotep and more.
