People collect things, people display things. It's a hobby and a passion. Gamers are no different than people who collect war memorabilia or people who collect stamps or coins. Plus things like this that are truly collectible usually appreciate in value.
It's a collector thing. I have a sealed copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga for Sega Saturn that is easily worth $500+

You're missing out. Also, those games won't have multiplayer. TWII multiplayer is fun as hell. If you're not sure I'd say at least give it a rent.
