Unless it is a long established franchise that is surely to sell well. Look at Nintendo with Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, just to name a few.
But yes, generally it is not a safe strategy to do for long. Anything can happen, especially from generation to generation where everything is basically a clean slate.
That would be awesome at $400 to those that are on the fence, but have yet to purchase a PS4.
They can however, reduce the cost of manufacturing on the PS4, provide the 1TB SKU for a little more and increase their profits for each one sold.
Red, I see your point, but how much would you pay for such a console? After all, the platform holder like Sony needs to factor in costs or risk selling at a loss for each one right? Then consider the economy as a whole too.
The PS4 as it is now, has great value and thus why it is selling so well at $399. It wouldn't sell as well at $449 or $499. $299 or $399 has always been the sweet spot for consumers in terms of buying a new console.
500GB is enough fo...
I agree that CoD is the bigger brand and will go down in selling more than Destiny, but if any new IP has a chance in selling the amount that CoD does, its going to be Destiny.
The developer has a huge fan base and their beta alone had 4.6 million different players during its peak.
Either way, I am looking forward to getting both Destiny soon and Advance Warfare when it is available, I believe in October on the PS4.
I am sure Activision would have just as big of a marketing push for Destiny as well. Aren't Activision the publisher for Destiny as well?
I will be buying both and looking forward to be playing both, unless they release the next CoD as broken as Battlefield 4, that is.
I am going to be getting both Destiny and CoD: Advance Warfare, so this is what I don't get from your comment.
Even if we were to consider that to do everything there is to do in Destiny would take up the same amount of time as in the next CoD game (I doubt this, a big part of the game is collecting the rare, legendary and exotic equipment, which will take a lot of time and commitment) then everyone would be then focusing on the PVP side of the game after.
The choice is all there my friend. As more and more games are released, my backlog of games I want to play is getting larger and larger. Hard to find time for too many different games at a time with work, friends and family taking up a lot of my time as well.
I just found out how great the PS Vita is (thought I'd share my experience) when remote playing with the PS4 last night. I haven't tried it over the internet, but when connecting via private network (directly wit...
How will I find time for any other games with this game coming out soon and Destiny later in the year?!
Does that mean theoretically you can use mouse and keyboard to play call of duty? If that's the case, then that is cheating lol. Mouse allows faster precision compares to analog sticks on traditional console controllers.
Obviously its short, or slang for a Gigabyte (GB)
Look at it from a consumer point of view.
Majority of games that are released each year is by third party developers. So naturally, a lot of people would rather buy the console that plays their games the best. Which has been the PS4. Couple that with the fact that Sony is going to produce just as many (if not more) exclusives and new IP's on the PS4 than it did on the PS3, now that it is selling so well.
I agree that resolution and FPS is not everything, but if I ...
They are a middleware company and so they would be smart to stay neutral as much as possible. All they want is to promote their middleware to as many developers on all sides as possible.
I did not know this and was wondering how those elemental weapons affected the enemies and which ones. Great/well made video and thanks for sharing! Might even get a subscription from me.
Halo is a big franchise that can do crazy sales, but I'm afraid even Halo isn't big enough to take down both Destiny and Advanced Warefare. Both will do crazy numbers and if recent software sales trends are to repeat, a lot of third party games has been selling more on the PS4.
I'm always amazed at what Arc Systems was able to do with the visuals for this game. Its truly beautiful and technically impressive when the visuals are actually all polygons, when it really does look as if they are super high resolution hand drawn images.
I wouldn't mind if the next Street Fighter game would borrow the looks of this game. IMO, it looks a whole lot better than SF: 4 art style.
I agree wholeheartedly with Panzer Dragoon Saga.
I was quite fond of Xenosaga as well.
Why the downvotes? Ni No Kuni is one of the best RPG games and is well liked critically and did pretty well for itself commercially.
That made me laugh. Eh, I'll give him A for effort lol.
I cannot agree with this more.
