Problem is MS killed all their first party studios besides Lionhead, Rare and Turn10. How can you have first party games with no first party studios?
#6.1.11 Dunno where you live so a GTX 480 may cost more then a 5970 there. But in the US a GTX 480 can be had for $375 after rebate with up to 2 free games. A 5970 Costs about $550 after rebate.
#6.1.12 You link to the benchmarks of 1 game(Crysis) to prove your point? The 5850 is generally faster but it also costs more. And I believe unless you can somehow find a Reference 5850 (next to impossible these days) most of them can not be overvolted except for certain Asus, M...
@6.1.7 I would have to disagree with your statement that the GTX 470 is overpriced. Maybe slightly at launch but the prices have dropped down to as low as $225 after rebate when on sale. At that price its a slamming deal. Now I wouldn't recommend the card if someone lives in a really hot climate but otherwise I'd say its the best bang for the buck card out right now. I got 2 in SLI for $420 after rebate and selling the games it came with. Of course I can't really find any gam...
"Games for Windows" games automatically map 360 controller buttons to onscreen prompts when a 360 controller is connected. Then the question becomes is this a "Games for Windows" game.
It wasn't SE's decision. It was Microsoft's to buy it. It was a no brainer for SE. Give us money to port a game? Sure y the hell not.
@2.1.5 I'm pretty sure your 5850 was a dud. Most 5850's can hit at least 950 core with voltage control. But I agree with you about ati drivers. They just don't measure up. I had no hesitation going from a 5850 to a gtx 470 despite the extra power draw.
Yeah they charge $15 to $20 for 2 rechargeable batteries in a plastic case(real value $4) and a proprietary cable when they could have just used usb. They realize not enough people are stupid enough to pay their 4x to 5x mark up so now they are forcing people to buy it. Very reasonable.
Well looking at the user comments under the review it looks like the reviewer didn't even bother playing the game... That's pretty disturbing and its not the first time I have notice this. I read several Dragon Age: Awakening reviews and a lot of them obviously didn't play the game or bothered to finish it. What the hell do this "journalist" get paid for?
Blah blah. lazy developers. blah blah Naughty Dog. Blah blah Uncharted 2. Blah blah Killzone 3. Just saved a lot of kids a lot of time.
Not much. You can probably run SC II on ultra with a 9800 GT? Those can be had for $50 after rebate.
Its pretty much the same chip. Might be higher binned. That's about it.
hahah How is it not a good deal? Its A FREE added service. So what if the games are old. You can always turn an envelope into a blockbuster store and get a new game for $5 if there is a particular new game you want to play. I think blockbuster is a get value. No extra charge for blu-ray movies or games.
Most of the articles on n4g are pointless. They just want you to click to get their traffic up and maybe click an ad here and there by accident so they can get some advertising bucks. Why else do you think there's so much trash on n4g?
People with Amazon gift certificates. Or people with an amazon credit card who get 3% back in gift cert rewards.
yeah, cuz a steam game has never been pirated before...
Uh.. have you ever considered that maybe Sony are the lazy pricks for not developing hardware multi-platform developers can easily code for? Its ridiculous to call every multi-platform developer that do not have unlimited resources and time to put out 3 identical versions of a game lazy. Why should they spend a lot more manpower and time on the ps3 version to try and pump grass out of it? Maybe, just maybe Sony should have made it easier to make grass in the first place. There are deadlin...
Outdated compared to what? I don't see any pc games coming out this year that will push hardware. I know I've looked. Been trying to justify getting a 2nd gtx 470 for SLI but don't see anything that will need it at 19x12.
Tomb Raider Smash TV. Talk about weird.
257.15 beta driver will let you do it for sure. But I don't know if later beta drivers re-enabled the lock out or if Mafia 2 will even work with the physx version included in that beta driver. Official driver releases still lock out ati cards for sure. Seems like a lot of hassle to me. If you want physx why not just sell both those cards and get a gtx 480. The simple solution is usually the best solution.
I'll take the PC version. Half price at $30, 1080p, 60 fps.
