my advice to the people who run out the 3 year RRoD warranty is just look around on the net and try and fix it yourself. i have a friend who did this and after a bit of dusting the innards and replacing a few components it worked fine
cost of fixing - £10.50
cost of new 360 - £ 100 ( at the very least)
with regards to people like militant07 i would suggest you try and fix your dead one and either flog it on ebay , chip it and play downloaded game...
at the end of the day i think that the people who are really that excited by this game arent going to be bothered by having to do a disk swap
up untill recently 360 owners werent even going to get this game so they dont really have the authority to whinging just because they have to swap disks
Square Enix arent simpletons either. im sure they will make the disk swaps in the places least likely to affect a persons gaming pleasure.

im not sure if the Lips mics work with the new GH or Rock band but im sure that it doesnt work the other way round ( Rock band mics dont work on Lips)
However i did hear that they may or may not add a patch to add rock band mic compatibility.
I personally dont think they will because , hey , it microsoft - they will always try and get your cash

your argument has no legs. online gaming on PC is not entirely free and World of Warcraft springs to mind. i paid about £270 for my old ps2 shortly after its launch and i got to keep up with all the lastest games for over 5 years. if i tried to keep up to date with the latest technology on a pc i would be buying a new graphics card every 4 months!
Come on Yano , thats a bit weak. its either compatible or not. if they were to release a patch that added backwards compatibility after a few weeks of the games launch you are going to piss off a whole load of people who just paid full whack for the mic, when they could have just waited and used the rock band mic they had owned for ages!
i personally think the game should be compatible but hey , its Microsoft. if they find a way to squeeze a bit more money out of you then they ...
