It's a good game. A really good game. It's tense and has some moments that will absolutely give you goosebumps. I'm so happy that someone has finally been able to make me fear each door I open and every turn I take. And the music/sound direction is absolutely AMAZING and completely adds to the experience.
You aren't wrong about the framerates and textures. it's abysmal how badly they factor into the game.
I'm in the same boat as you. about half way done the 3rd chapter and it's spooky and creepy. Good game but there are for sure some major technical issues. Frame rate drops like a $2 hooker offered a $5 bill and textures pop like charlie sheen and his prescription medications.
this game should have so issue making you sweat bullets. It's the first one in a LOOOOOONG while that a game has made me question every turn.
It's a pretty tense game. No question about it. I can honestly say that it's made my palms sweat more than a few times and I'm only on chapter 3.
Everything I need to know about this game is on the disc I'm about to put into my system in about 2 minutes.
I wouldn't call it addictive in the least bit. I haven't even touched the game in about a week and I'm not jonesing to get into it. In fact, I have Alien Isolation, Borderlands the Pre-Sequel and the Evil Within to play this weekend so I won't even be thinking about Destiny at all.

I've been playing this game for a solid 2 weeks and haven't experienced anything like this at all.
I'm actually about to replace my 2nd Xbox One #facepalm
First one it wouldn't read discs at all. Then there were shipping and delivery issues and I was without a system on Xmas day. WEAK!
Then they lost it and charged me $500 for the replacement console. Took another 2 weeks to sort out that mess. Now my disc drive seems to be seizing. It makes a grinding noise when I put discs in (sometimes)and I have to smack it to dislodge it so it'll read disc...
Jade EMpire was supposed to happen. I got to try a very early pre-alpha of the game. it was futuristic but so nice. I have a very slight glimmer of hope.

I'll believe that when I see it. I stopped buying CoD purely because of the quick scoping Dbags that ruined the game and the hackers. I'm hopeful that with the new systems, that will be curbed but I won't trust anything that comes out of their mouths until I see it for myself.
