I know what you mean. I'm on my second playthrough now (just to refresh my memory before UC4 hits), and it's a really weak game imo.
Uninteresting villains with strange powers out of nowhere and stuff.
I think I read an article about Talbot from UC3 that went pretty in-depth why he was a bad villain. But I can't find the article now.

There's no comparing the male and female bodies in this game, but sadly much of the audience can't really see it from the point of view stated above.

I've had the same problem since launch.
From the rumours I've read, I blame the disconnect in online-culture between east and west.
I've heard that it's Sony Japan that controls the online portion of the Playstation and refuses to hand the reins over to someone who knows what they're doing.
I've done my fair share of strikes, and I haven't gotten a single legendary.
But you know what? That might be what Bungie intended!
If they feel that the drop rates need to be increased, they'll increase it in due time. It's no reason to try to legitimize exploiting/whatever.
Powerful gear is supposed to be earned.
I consider this an exploit and I don't use it, I just wish Bungie would fix this.
Whatever your opinion on the Loot Cave is, it's (probably) very much counter to Bungies vision of how Destiny would play, and how you'd progress in it.
(Since I don't partake in the Cave-grinding, it sucks that I don't have enough armor-thingies to upgrade my gear. But at least I have the moral highground, so there's that.)
