I think many die hard Dragon Age fans would disagree with you here. DA is still an RPG at heart, and while adding better combat should definitely be explored, it's important to not become more of an Action game over being an RPG.
I'm just hoping that the combat can be tactically challenging enough, and not just spam attacks and pots as it was in DA2.

I'm quite worried about the author's choice of word... He stated that the combat roll will be "purchasable", what does that mean? Would that be as simple as choosing an upgrade option in a skill tree or MICROTRANSACTIONS.
Normally I won't be as concerned but seeing as this is EA, I'm a little skeptical now.
I'm really hoping for a lot more than a trailer for PAX East. Sure, I can see it coming and would love to have one and then analyze the crap out of it.
But what I REALLY want is another recording of the gameplay session they show like the one shown in PAX 2013. Oh I lost count how many times I watched it, and the crowd cheering still gets me smiling.

I, for one, am not too excited that this is a cross gen title. Sure, it's a such safer and conservative financial decision to include as many platforms as possible, but I can't help but imagine what could be created if Bioware had the time and resources and only focus on the PS4/XB1 and PC.
I know what you mean Kal853, they've got a lot of bad press with ME3, DA2 is obviously a rushed product, and SWTOR has failed to be profitable as a subscription MMO and has turned F2P.
Fortunately, as RegorL said, EA pushed back the release date of DA:I and the game looks pretty amazing now.
I'm a big fan of DAO, so hopefully DAI can recapture some of the DA magic.

Thanks for not referencing the endings as Blue, Green, and Red. I wasn't a big fan of ME3's ending, but grew very tired of people always whining about it.
That said, the dev's have stated that there will be 4 completely diff endings, care to venture a 4th option?
