Look at mame32k...people still play street fighter 2 championship edition...all the way to Marvel vs Capcom... King of fighters etc.
XBOX live arcade's most played game online is Street Fighter 2 hyper fighting. And Mortal Kombat has a lot of competitive players..
And I would glady pick the Xbox360 controller over the PS3 controller on many leve...
