Kojima is very hands on in the production of the metal gear games, konami realizes his importance to the series....all indications are that Miyazaki has been asked to step aside and will remain involved in name only....Can you imagine how different the MG franchise would be today if Kojima had been pushed away from it after just 2 games....
I know right....We should be silent and let the dev's and the publisher take the game in what ever direction they want...after all they know exactly what us gamers want, right?
I've already pre-ordered my copy....cause I know it's gonna be teh tits.....lol
OMG...Paid dlc item storage...WTF?
A framework where players are able to directly interact with each other.
A more understandable story also more accessible and action oriented game-play.....
It's not looking good if you were a fan of the originals....LOL
I would imagine Namco Bandai is hard at work on a souls game just for the WiiU already....Complete with all the Nintendo character cameos you can shake a controller at.
You're right I'm taking the information given to me and making an assumption based on that information...Your assumption may differ from mine and that's ok....No spin just my opinion...Now we can proceed
Nowhere in anything I've read are there any indications that Miyazaki is working on a new souls game separate from DS2...Also his role in DS2 will be minimal at best... This saddens me and many other fans of this series
Not being jaded just ...
"we're imagining a framework where players are able to directly interact with each other," Shibuya said.
This goes against what the first two games were trying to achieve with their multi-player components....I know we're all looking forward to being able to jump into a friends game and co-op battle waves of the undead or sixteen player PVP....all while some douche plays annoying music in the background and curses incessantly over the newly implemented mic s...
I'm sorry, from what I've read everything points to Miyazaki being asked to step aside in favor of Shibuya and Tanimura and that his role in the sequel will be in name only.
"Miyazaki is not working on the development of Dark Souls 2. He is not a director or producer, and is merely a “supervisor”.- Even as a supervisor, he isn’t making any development decisions."

I hope that we the fans get a sequel that doesn't stray too far from what made it great. I just don't see that happening without Miyazaki....Time will tell.
My hopes for this game were lost when I read that Miyazaki had been pushed aside so the franchise could move forward in a more accessible manner.
Perhaps the fans need to petition for Miyazaki to be put back at the helm of the Soul series. Maybe a little public outcry or a threat of boycott will avert the casualization of the franchise... LOL
Should we let those who skipped the games because of the difficulty and their inability to follow the story be the only voices the developers hear?
Non-fans will always see it as bitching when the fans who helped cultivate and grow a series voice their concerns.
Sometimes the only recourse we fans have is "bitching".....
I think you're missing the point, the players choices and play style dictated the difficulty in both previous souls games, to put in a difficulty select would change the games completely...If you need an easy mode these are not the games for you...Not being elitist just being a realist.
Just out of curiosity, have you played the games?

Miyazaki wanted to challenge players to reach a goal thru patience and exploration while punishing those that would rush in blindly hacking n slashing..He wanted to tell a story that was rich in lore but still open to player interpretation. These elements made the first two games exceptional not casual or mediocre.
Now we're being told the story was too vague and the game-play wasn't accessible enough or action filled.....If you didn't get the story or the game wa...
Umbasa....
I would assume he was removed or asked to step aside because his vision for the game was conflicting with Namco's wishes for a more accessible experience for the player. This doesn't look good for true souls fans.
I got a feeling the souls series is about to be re-in visioned for the sake of sales. Maybe we'll see some Kinect and Move support along with a Wii U edition.
Maybe he's shifted world tendency to black and Flame Lurker is being super agressive.....LOL
Sounds to me as if the author may be stuck on the bane of most new Demon's Souls players "The Dragon God"......The author needs to stop playing Demon's Souls bypass Dark Souls and just wait for the more accessible Dark Souls 2 or 3.....
@Wolfbiker
Apparently not.
The majority of gamers today think a game has to be ACCESSIBLE to everyone, so anyone can pick it up and play, like Halo, COD or Angry Birds in order to sell.
I for one cant wait to play Dark Souls 3 with my gram-ma.....I also want to be able to walk into my local convenience store and grab some Dark Souls Doritos and Soul Power Dew....
Exactly.....Have a bubble
@RuperttheBear
"I tend to be optimistic until there is real reason to be concerned about something. As it is, it's early days."
So how long should we wait to voice concern? Maybe when a beta is released or a demo, maybe some alpha game-play videos. The earlier our concerns are heard by the publishers or dev's the more likely they are to address them.
