In Uncharted 3, they have redone the whole booster system, while also adding in Kick-backs system.
Mixing and matching Boosters + Kick-backs allow for a variaty of different play styles, giving the player the ability to customize to his specific play style and needs. Supporting different play styles is great, and it makes the game more fun.
