Thanks for the interest.
Check the quotes, do some research. You think that developers aren't having problems getting their games on the PS3 at the moment? Ubisoft are STILL citing issues with Endwar and it's not even out yet. The problems with the Unreal 3 engine are STILL not fixed. Nobody is saying that first party games won't rock, and the articles cited that you can get a great game on the system - you just need a team on 90 to port it over. Read the article, read the quotes, find the facts.
lol
Fair enough, but I think with the slew of new titles, a year old game could easily be buried... Even with the exclusive new content. And remember we're talking about culling games here, not which are good or not. If you had enough cash for one new title and you had to choose between Bioshock and say Dead Space, the question here is which one would you choose? Considering how many PS3 owners might also own a 360 and have the game already, I'm saying Dead Space. Bioshock has had it's day.
"Robbie Bach, president of the entertainment and devices division at Microsoft also indirectly confirms that people were already working on new technologies..."
"Indirectly confirms" is now my new favourite article quote :)You can't ask for surer that that.
hehe, thanks, this place can be brutal about things like that!
I'd love a great Star Wars game too... This one have gotten mixed reviews, sounds a bit kiddie and reviewers have lost interest pretty quickly. Fracture might have an ordinary single player game, but I can see some amazing tournament matches coming out of terraforming the battlefield... It's all predictions anyway, but an interesting discussion topic. Thanks for the sensible and thoughtful response btw.
Thanks for the proofreading... Mentioned in the article, missed it in the list.
Well said, and you may be right, I may not understand the MMO market very well. I'm really just looking at it from the perspective of IF a console could create a title that would entice PC MMO players. And you may be right, this just may never happen. It's actually refreshing to have someone submitting sensible comments to respond to.
Oh, and just for the sake of clarity for everyone else, I am actually an Xbox preferred player. I just think Sony are on the right track.
Apart from The Secret World, this is an incredibly weak and unconfirmed list. Tell me, with a straight face, that Mabinogi is going to be a force on the console MMO scene across the world?
Thanks for contributing though.
It's more about who can come up with the premium MMO experience. Now if one of the consoles can do that, create a game that the current WoW players want to switch to, then that console will find themselves with millions of new customers. I think that Sony and Microsoft know that too, that's why there are so many titles coming through.
Now i'm not saying that any of the current batch can do it, but the fact is that all developers are beginning to accept that consoles are becoming the no...
Those extra titles are indeed coming out, the article reflects that now. It's good to see the approval stage doing its job, thanks for the feedback. I'd have to say though that these titles are not creating a lot of hype (they didn't make themselves obvious lets say) and don't add too much weight to the 360's credentials as the future home for MMO players, which is the crux of the article.
If the 360 had hung on to the Marvel Universe it might have been another story, many peopl...
just based on the title, it made me laugh.
... Now this is what I call a rap battle.
I've got my money on Bow Wow (remember, it wasn't long ago he was little, the kids all grown up now).
Perhaps reading the article would put you in a better place to comment upon it. It is an article discussing the implications of the exclusivity battle moving away from titles alone and into the software that makes them. You would know that though, having read it. It's a valid discussion point, formed from observing the aim of each console manufacturer to produce more unique content. Hence it being an article, and not news. Don't just read the sections of the story posted here, read the full a...
it is in development for the Wii, but it mentioned that there were no plans for ANY other console. The article actually praised the PS3 and PSP connectivity, that was about the only other mention... I may have to give up here :)
...when you read the article it'll tell you that it's all about mobile gaming... Let me know where I can pick up one of those Zune360's and i'll concede the point. Nothing wrong with being curious though xhairs9.
Okay, easy on, hehe. I've included a full story link in the header back at GamerChip so you can see the orginal article. I've even avoided any sensationalism about console versions so the fanboys wouldn't explode... thought i'd caused enough of that already!
1. The story is under Rumour, created from a direct quote. Read the quotes in the story, half of the original article is discussing the viability of a console version. If that is not acknowledging the possibility then nothing is.
2. Half of the stories on N4G and any other news site, particularly a social gaming news site, are speculation. The idea is to explore the gaming news and look at the possibilities.
Take into consideration that this is exactly what it is repor...
it's fair to say that a lot of the major developers are getting their heads around the problem, but it's taking massive resources that most don't have access to. The U3 engine is a good example. Even though the Xbox and PC are quite similar, the engine still needed to be ported to the 360. This still hasn't effectively been done for the PS3. And with games like Endwar, from devs as large as Ubisoft, still running into problems, you can see that there are games currently in production that wil...
