I guess it's useful to have "data" to suggest the XBoxOne is likely to do best in North America, but isn't that like saying, "cows go MMmmoooo"?
This article seems somewhat unnecessary. MMmmoooo!
And the predictable response from M$ will be, "I meant to say their Xbox One is sold out at SOME retailers around the world."
Sorry mom.
Now that I look closely at the image, I think it's MY mom!! Ya, my mom is skanky...what of it???
WTH is going on at Microsoft? Seriously, they keep finding ways to piss off their customers, and when they realize "gamers" are NOT necessarily the stupid lemmings that they hope them to be, they react!
In effect, they've attempted to make the free to play model one that you pay for up front, and then micro-gouge customers for content presumably already in the build. Wow.
So, now we compare issues to determine a "winner"? I'd have been more surprised if either next gen console did NOT have some problems; it's just the nature of a new product release. As a gamer, I feel badly for anyone who has been let down by their launch purchase. Obviously, Sony and MS will do all they can to avoid prolonged negative (media) coverage.
Misleading title...the "author" is talking only about one of its features (voice recognition) with respect to, "when its working." Brutal.
Nice to see so many comments that show gamers care more about games than the device that they're played on.
Now, definitively, the BEST console is...the one that YOU own. Have fun.
They both look identical to me, which appears to be a common theme. All this rhetoric about visuals on each console...I'm just going to wait and see for myself when I can actually play on each.
"...he finished with a small note...defending both Microsoft and Sony."
Let's be honest - spinning information is a high profile position within both camps (Sony and Microsoft). Is he defending Sony out of the goodness of his heart? Maybe. But, Microsoft has had way more controversy (some deserved, some not) than has Sony over next gen.
When somebody does this (package themselves in the same wrapping with their competitor), they're actu...
Gotta be honest, I will be buying a PS4 (will probably add an XBox1 down the road), but Forza looks great!
I think "fanboy" goes beyond being a "fan." I'm a fan of a lot of different sports teams, but my bias isn't to the point where I can't recognize the strengths or the talents of opposing teams. Fanboys are locked in their own bias and aren't capable of objectivity on any level. I think that's the difference.
Agreed...fanboys of any stripe serve little purpose (other than to annoy just about anyone with a brain). But, what about the myriad of web-sites that purposely publish inflammatory articles to provoke responses and to push peoples' buttons? Gotta generate those hits, eh? So, while criticism of fanboy nonsense and rhetoric is deserved, let's recognize that the "gaming media" feeds the fire a lot of the time.
A wise man once said, "...people can come up with statistics to prove anything, Kent. 14% of all people know that." ~ Homer J Simpson.
Seriously, so many good comments already made that refutes this Canadian rubbish of a study. And "violent" games are what...things like Mario Kart? Because I think that game is responsible for road rage. Really, I do!
Anybody...ANYBODY who becomes violent as a result of playing video games is ill. Perh...
There is no appetite for new hardware where it counts, that being on the consumer side. Let alone early adopters who have some illness that compels them to have the “bleeding” edge of tech (maybe even including the latest and greatest toaster), there isn’t anyone who really needs to spend the cash on a new machine any time soon regardless of how “old” the current consoles we’re playing right now is.
What I find strange about this article is how it’s said that “developers” wan...
Read the Steam Forums to see how "satisfied" way too many PC gamers were (NOT) with Trials Evolution. The game was a hot mess if you believe what was said about it and it apparently was ignored by the developers shortly after launch. Here's hoping for a return to the quality/playability that was Trials and Trials HD, because they were great!
