I agree with you but cutting down user base might not be the most profitable idea for current or future games. The reason i think this is because its only this generation where we have the certain ppl known as fanboys.
I know that sounds abit odd but i heard from plenty of ppl where i work, that they wont be buying FF13 new but preowned. This is mainly due the the reason of Square going over to MS.

Very mixed opinions here. If i'm honest, i am a little sad about the way this game sounds in comparison to the others. (no world map, liner, emo characters etc). Non the less it sounds like a good rpg. I kinda feel like they should have given it another title instead of branding it a final fantasy.
To me having a world map is a FF trade mark. Having a boat, car then airship to go around and find new towns as ether a side quest or to add to the main story is a given.

I think i stand alone on this but i personally enjoy the "console war" between 360 and ps3. Both are trying so hard to get consumers to purchase there product.
If ps3 was not around, the 360 may well charge even more for the memberships and you might not even get as many features.
Same goes for ps3.
