The PS3 is my favorite console. The 360 is great too, but 360 fanboys are the worst group of fanboys I have seen since I started gaming back in the Atari and NES days. Nintendo fanboys were never as bad, Sega fanboys were never as bad, Neo-Geo fanboys were never as bad (yes there were Neo-Geo fanboys), PC fanboys were never as bad, PS3 fanboys were never as bad ...well, I am sure you get my point.-

Actually, Sony has 3 unannounced JRPGs in the working. Back then on the TGS, I remember a rumour about Wild Arms 6, so we might hear more info. this year.

The only reason LO sold higher than the others was because it was a throw back and used the old formula of the JRPGs we love on the PS2. In a way, it's like eating the food you've been longing for. That wasn't the case on the other titles.
People build their collection on the 360 since it was the first to come out on the market. Remove all the people who owns both console and let the people who only owns one console to buy the games and see the results.
Another explanation would be the diverse fanbase of the PS3.
Japan = JRPGs and Racing games. They don't seem to like Shooters much
Europe = Racing games and sports games.
NA = Shooters.
