I cant agree more with the author of this article, who say that u cant make a next generation JRPG with awesome graphics and turn based battle system? why they stop making those kinds of games? I really miss them next generation was the doom of the genre for me personally my once favorite genre erased from the map and that was traditional turn based JRPG's this genre is non existent in current generation u see one once in blue moon sometimes but that's not enough I really miss the old...
It seems to me that Nintendo NA want to punish the us-boys who play all day long fps like CoD and other sh1ty games :P
The conclusion is stop playing shooters stop killing each other endlessly in a fcking game with machine guns and start play a game that it can give u the same experience u have when u read a good book with a nice story and the best is that u can have a role in this story and help the story progress.
OK I see a lot of wannabe rpg's in this list but the truth is that most of this games in the list is hybrids or shooters or MMO's or more action-than-rpg or hack n slash etc...

The reason SE go downhill is not the merge imo I used to say that like every1 else but the true reason is that Square lost the 2 greater masterminds in the JRPG world:
Hironobu Sakaguchi: former CEO of Squaresoft and the creator of the greatest FF ever FFVII also it was the one responsible for the story everything that happen in the game was his idea.

The reason SE disappoint me to tears is that they have transform my once favorite traditional JRPG franchise to an action RPG and MMORPG (FFXII).

It was too easy to add the TEKKEN char's in a SF game because the game is very simple from it's nature the characters dont have more than 10 moves each, but TEKKEN it's very complex game some chars have over 100 moves 5 to 10 10-hit combos, multiple single and combo-grapples from all directions, counters/chickens and I don't know what the fck else..
