The "Addition" system from Legend of Dragoon, the AP/Combo system from Xenogears & also the "Tactical Arts" system from Legend of Legaia is 3 of the best examples of how u can spice things up & keep the battles interesting & engaging on a turn based JRPG, if the devs try a few things & put their heads down to find something fun it's not so hard to think such awesome stuff the prob is they don't even try nowadays to think something, they just give up...
Because it's not worth it yet I guess not enough game for specific tastes to make the purchase worth it especially for JRPG/Survival Horror fans there is absolutely nothing for ppl like me to play on next generation consoles maybe in 2-3 years I didn't buy a PS3 until late 2009 no reason to rush just to play a game & then have the console collecting dust for years until the next game who interest me released.
I expect to see Dark Souls 3 on PS4 for 2015 with Deep Down graphics I wonder if FROM SOFTWARE can do those kind of graphics graphics r not their strong point :P but if they do something like this it's going to be something really amazing & whole different experience :D
@DragonKnight W/e man I can't see Tactics as a spin-off it's a whole different category, for me a spin-off must have have some kind of relation with past FF's, FF Tactics was nothing like that u can say that this game belong to it's own category & it's the only game with this kind of battle system SE could make a new one in the future & name it Tactics 2 for example, u never know as long they could find some1 trustworthy to give it a try :)

One of my personal most hardest game I have play is Tomb Raider 3 compare to that game & most other old school TR games the UC series looks so ridiculous easy that it's disappointing I never felt that there is anything challenging to do on those games.
