what we are really talking about is customer support and how each company deals with problems.
If m$ extends their warranty than match what your competitors do.
Both companies are basically trying to compete with the wii in regards to their motion control, so why not take that same principle and apply it to warranties. Compared to how much MS had to pay out, we all know that Sony doesn't have the same rate of problems, so if they were to offer the same warranty ...
Ok.. well I just heard on the other area (gamer zone) that the repairs would cost $150 in the states. So in that case 3 years worth of xbox live.
That would still be 3 years of service.

You should get free repairs for the first few years. They should have copied Microsofts position and made it free repairs for the first 3 years even if they don't have the same amount of problems.
The small percentage that do have problems would be covered and everyone is happy.
Sometimes the small things show how much a company really doesn't care.
Every company has its ups and downs but this is just stupid on sony's part.

If sony is asking for $315 to repair a product worth $699 thats 45.1% of the cost.
If you bought a car at we'll say $20,000 and had to pay 45.1% you would pay $9,020.
I can see where the comparison is coming from. I don't live in Australia so I have no idea how much a car costs there, but the jist of the comparison is the percentage paid.

I own both the Ps3 and 360 and enjoy both. I have a Wii but my kids use it not my cup of tea. IF you come on this site with no fanboyism you will see that the PS3 fans are more rabid at the moment. Most Xbox fans have left to find a better place where everybody enjoys gaming for what it is.. Gaming. I don't care if someone prefers their PS3 or 360 or Wii. But on here it seems that in order to enjoy the PS3 you have to dump on another system. Which is rediculous! Stop being a System fan...

Have you actually seen the ad??? Its such a non issue its not funny. I logged on after reading all these comments expecting some god forsaken eyesore. Its actually a small thing inside one of the blades, that in order to see the ad you have to actually have to go to the ad where it doesn't come to you.

I did the exact same thing, anhd I thought the ad was going to intrusive and really get to me, then after seeing it I laughed at that, since it isn't everywhere or floating all over the place.
Hell its more bothersome with Sony's Qore magazine, now that drives me nuts since I paid the fee for it and bang I get ads with it. Sure I can press skip after a second or 2 but still there and I paid for the Qore.
This is no big deal.
