The obvious solution seems to be not to fuck with it.
That’s one of the most padded articles I’ve ever read here. For example, the following sentences are from the three or four paragraphs before the author actually tells you what there is to do:
“Fortunately, however, there are other things you can do.”
“... although there are still other things the player can do.”
“... but that's not to say there aren't other things to do.”
Same. Since E3 I’ve gone from mildly interested to pretty damn excited.
Most people will question it. Please seek the definition of the word literally or consider being less dramatic when accusing everyone else of being too dramatic.
There’s nothing substantive in this article or the press release it’s based on. I can guarantee most of us have never heard of Pomerantz LLP before now.
It looks fine, but those cube shaped designs they posted were gorgeous.
I have a hard time believing the company’s issues are as widespread as he seems to suggest, but I’ve been in similar toxic work situations and wish him the best. It sucks being lower on the totem pole than the shit talkers—there’s really no way to defend yourself and you’re driven a little closer to madness every day.
Can you post a link? I can’t find it.
I’m actually waiting for something like this to drop before playing FFIX. Unfortunately Square Enix has a history of releasing half-assed ports and letting modders clean them up.
I’m sure plenty of people are talking about it, just, you know, in the article that actually pertains to that subject.
By all means though, spread your political shit where it doesn’t belong. Not like you needed an excuse anyway.
We do?
I think the argument—at least the serious one that deserves attention—is that it decreases our overall sensitivity to violence. When you bring society’s awareness down a notch it has a trickle-down effect, similar to the way recently elected officials have lowered the bar in regards to the way we converse with each other.
What kind of laws are we talking about?
Don’t his own games feature rampant killing? Maybe not humans specifically (I don’t know, I don’t have much experience with his work) but a robot can certainly be considered a human surrogate at least as much as a computer generated person can be. Either way you’re ending something with a perceived life, which perhaps says more about us when you consider we only really care when the thing we kill is human.
@Hungryalpaca
Pretending men face some sort of gender-oriented abuse while gaming is sexism. You’re going out of your way to create conflict where none exists based solely on some innate drive to defend yourself despite never being attacked. What you’re actually defending is your ideology, which is a good sign that it’s unhealthily deep-seated and in need of re-evaluation.
If there is a God, they will be bought for a fraction of their actual value before being resold to a confused soccer mom for a few dollars less than if they were brand new.
Honest question: Why are the Microsoft-fellating articles so popular on this site?
This guy sounds aggresively delusional.
If anything wouldn’t this have enough new content to be considered a sequel instead of DLC?
Same game. It wasn’t cancelled before, it was moved to a new studio and taken in a new direction. Now it’s cancelled.
