MS will never sell more than PS, that's the fact. However, they need to sell enough to make a viable business. Just because they are not the no 1 seller does not mean they won't be successful. Saying MS double down on power is probably disingenuous.
At the start of the gen it was the PS4 that was more powerful (and didn't we hear all about it for years from PS fans on N4G). MS on the other hand had a less powerful system, which was more expensive to buy due to Kinect. It had a shit DRM plan, had cut back on studios and focused too much on TV. The power advantage only swung late in the gen but by then it was too late.
