I think players expect way too much. What people should want is a game without bugs that is fun, but it goes beyond, where people want the biggest game of the year, with AAA graphics. All this pressure to make the game look amazing, and make a huge open world, coupled with a rushed deadline, leads to buggy, unfun messes. If people wanted a fun game and praised other aspects than purely graphics and a huge map, maybe devs would start working on a fun game. Indie devs do well because of this. Y...
