Well after spending 2k on mine i like the bragging rights come with it. And so do others. What if you had a Lamborghini and every neighbour in a 5 block radius had a pos wagon. It would be indeed but won't happen because microsoft is greedy as opposed to valve. i agree. gpu's have to rely on cpu to manage the streams of data. everything passes through cpu multiple times. if you have weak cpu then you can have a tri sli 690's in there and they'll perform the same as a gt640. ram also is very important. bad ram means bad performance all together. gpu comes after.
if you get a low mid range pc now then yeah, it will probably equal xbox720/ps4. but those will only be able to achieve 1080p/60fps with mostly medium settings, maybe medium high at 1080p/30fps or 72p/60fps all high. however 1k pc can easily get you 1080p/60fps with mostly ultra some high (such as MSAA) settings, so yea he's right when he says PC is 2 generations ahead of ps4/xbox720
You'd be stupid to take 1gb at 1600 vs 2gb at 1333. If you knew anything about ram speeds in real world then youd also know that 1333 to 1600 is about 5-15% improvement, which is even less needed since 1333 is good enough for hardcore gaming or anything other than intense editing/rendering. Also comparing pentium with icore series is a terrible example. They are too many generations apart. And cpu clocks do matter quite well since the architecture isnt that advanced in the WiiU. what exactly constitutes "next generation"? it can't be story because we don't need new hardware for that, nor other elements of a game except graphics and computing power for things like A.I. but what i can't see is how in the world is WiiU next gen when it comes to graphics? most of the launch titles are no better than 360/ps3 counterparts. and of course dev's are going to get more familiar over time, but i don't expect visual fidelity to increase more than 50%...

if you'd have bothered to do a little more extensive research, you'd have seen that ps3 has 256mb for OS ans 256 for games. xbox has 512 and both OS and games use it at the same time. max a game can use on ps3 is 256, xbox is closer to 512. not to even mention the 10mb edram, which is used for resolution, texture, anti aliasing... etc, buffers. Dipshit.
you forgot the the majority of the community plays on one platform rather than the other. that's why i buy cod and fifa on xbox, mk on ps3 and battlefield on pc. and don't forget that to a gamer who has fun playing his game, he won't bother noticing the 720p vs 1080p or 8msaa vs fxaa. if it would bother him/her he wouldn't find the game fun.
how would any of you know how much personnel was assigned for each console? it seems like eveyone believes there was x amount for xbox and x amount for ps3. how do you know that the ps3 didnt have x+y to begin with. and believe me, i know how frustrating it is to create software for hardware when you're being limited by hardware. sure, they could hire pro's that are used to the ps3 architecture, and they probably should. but to come in here and say you know how stuff was done and that...
i don't know where you guys live but it takes at least 6-9 months after release of goty/complete to go down below 50% of original price. and with games like gta, skyrim, its hard to resist, and easy to let all the hype overflow your stomach, buy, and digest huge games like those mentioned.

If you want to see a real difference than go compare low settings to ultra in games like crysis and far cry. And stop counting pixels on console ports
