I loved the multiplayer of all things from the last one, should be great to see how this pans out.
How long before you think someone comments that it's the same game with new rosters? I can't wait to get my hands on this.
The idea sounds fantastic in theory, I just wonder if they could really do something new with the concept.
I'm almost worried that they're pushing too much into this. I really hope they've found a way to have all of these personalities work with each other in the story.
The problem to me seems that developers are looking into mulitplayer a tad too much. You hit it on the head when you mentioned being able to tick off that box, as most games have devolved into a "me too" type of scenario. However, they're not fully to blame, as we the consumer aren't really helping the situation. We still turn away from games being "to short" and without that bonus multiplayer, feel that we just didn't get enough out of a product. I would g...
The amount of polish on these is astounding.
The reviews on this one seem to be all over the place. I may wait on this one before jumping in.
Only in Mortal Kombat could a story like that hold up. I can't play the game without instantly reverting back to arcade days. The shock that came with the first Fatality is one of my favorite gaming moments.
The loading was the only real negative I noticed on my play through. Fantastic game.
I've never been a huge fan of Gears. No specific reason, just never really pulled pulled me in that much. I really want to be excited for this game, but I just can't seem to fall in love with the series like everyone else has. Here's hoping the beta changes that for me.
I'm a tad worried about our expectations. The first two games set the bar at a level that could be simply unreachable.
Well done
Always have a blast with this games without needing them to reinvent the wheel. May have to pick this up
I cant be the only one enjoying watching you guys do this. You're really starting to hone your craft.
I have to wonder if I'm really the target demographic for this. I definitely see the 8/10 for the right audience, but it seems lost on me for some reason.
Actually it wasn't the full game, it was the last beta release if I remember correctly. While the core game was there, I'm 90% sure it only ran directx 9 as opposed to 11. Should be a significant upgrade come tuesday.
You bring up a great point. We're used to these high quality engines now. Its going to take a lot more to wow us as the bar is already set extremely high
I couldn't disagree more. The demo played extremely smooth for me, and during GDC the full engine was on display. It looked fantastic to be frank.
Its important to note that there was no pc demo planned until we demanded one. I'm decently sure that the demo was an older port. Sure it wasn't perfect, but seems way to early pass judgement.
I loved the first one, was one of the best games this generation story wise. I had really given up hope that the sequel was coming.
Whenever we get review copies, we make sure we say so at the bottom of our reviews. When it comes to talking before a game comes out, often are hands are tied by NDAs, but we're always working with the idea of putting readers first.
