what can they trim down from the 40 gb ps3 that they already haven't.
I think having a big ps3 gives the Fan a lot of space and keeps it from heating or making noise.
If PS3 becomes cheap enough, it will sell a lot. Or if Sony starts producing lots of ads or if the economy gets better.
I don't think MS would be willing to pay big bucks for Lost planet.
They will just showcase it as exclusive and have some exclusive DlC.

I think it would be a small leap, since FF13 is utilizing the ps3 as much as it can.
They haven't started FF13 on the Xbox yet, so it's kinda like saying that both are exclusives and taking advantage of the ps3.
