I haven't played a Lego game since the original Star Wars trilogy. I might pick this up to get familiar with it again before getting The Force Awakens.
First of all, sincerely thank you. I put a lot of heart into this, I was really proud how it came out. You don't get a lot of positive feedback when you write about games, so I cherish it when I do. I'll be screen capping this and putting it in a folder.
I KNOW THE TETRIS PUZZLE YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. In the marsh? I spent a whole night on just that, came back to it the next morning, beat it in five minutes. It's amazing what a fresh set of eyes can do for you....
I agree. I look at it as I'm paying for DLC for the game, and getting a nice figure out of this. They aren't restricting you from parts of the game that already existed. They're giving you an option for more.
Oh my, don't get me excited like that! The video was great and I love they're paying attention to things like these, but you're right, I'm only hungry for more. I feel spoiled for saying that.
If I understand correctly, he also predicted there wouldn't be a "next console cycle" after this generation. Who is this guy, and why is he credible?
Author here! While I love feedback, I'm afraid there's little I can do with it from someone who admitted they read the first sentence, which is grammatically correct and no one else seems to mind, and were dissatisfied. All the same thanks for commenting!
I. Uh. I'm not exactly sure who you're talking to/about. Rimeskeem just said it sold crazy fast.
To play devil's advocate, as someone already mentioned, the PS2 existed at a pretty sweet time with having a DVD player. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it also had a pretty unusual situation with Brazil that kept alive a ridiculous lifecycle. It'll all depend how long they support it after the PS5 is released, especially as it goes down in cost, which you already mentioned. Great point you made :)
Just think about how long the Super Nintendo was being sold to reach that number too. Mah Gawd.
I think it takes #3 from GameBoy at 119 million no problem. The top two are 150 million, that's just mind-blowing numbers. One of them is a handheld, the other was sold for an ungodly amount of time. Not saying it's not possible, but if it doesn't it won't exactly be disappointing.
The whole time I was writing it I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone. What a time to be alive where I can complain about having too many things.
Completely fair point. To play devil's advocate, the publishers that are releasing as many games as TellTale does in a year are umpteen sizes bigger than them and usually aren't just publishing just their own games. Those studios aren't cranking out three games a year. To quote the article, there's not a developer I want to see three times a year. I love Halo, but if you gave me that Forerunner trilogy within 12 months I'd be sick of it. Hope that clears up where I'm c...
Author here, I think you may have misunderstood the point of the article. I'm not calling for an overhaul of their engine. I actually quite like their aesthetic. A portion of their games are comic book based and looks beautiful on that engine. I'd like them to take the time to make it run better, which it needs, as proven by my own anecdotal evidence and the linked Kotaku article.
To your point about not making everything look the same, TellTale has been pretty criti...
Author here, absolutely agree. It gives them more time to work on current projects and address concerns consumers have. I'd be more accepting of them branching out so much if they gave closure on any of their current series and spread out the avalanche of new stuff coming.
While they'll never get Star Wars, the Minecraft thing is what inspired this article. It just feels like they'll do anything at this point. It feels like a cash grab, which they have every right to do, but it changes how I view their work.
Step one to changing that is to raise your voice that you aren't happy about it. Step two is backing it up and not buying it until progress is made.
He DID get everyone pretty good (or pretty bad) with that Crash shirt...
Or even revisit all the characters being silent. I thought it was brilliant in the (admittedly few) games I've played.
