Because that is its closest competitor, both games are very similar. As a matter of fact tomb raider influenced uncharted but uncharted became a beast of it owns for its story line. I hope square-enix doesn't mess up the Rise of tomb raider story line as they already practically killed the next gen hype for it by making it for 360 as well. They said they were planing on making the game photo-realistic but then announced it on 360 which practically killed their statement.
If I was Ninja theory I would have said I am making it on PS4 because it has a bigger install base and our 12 employee need to eat. Developers go hungry in X1 but PS4 feels like a buffet.
Its coming to Xbox 360 which means the game is going to be made with that console in mind then upgraded for the X1. Which basically means it is a last gen game at heart. It can't compete with Uncharted 4 which is being made for the PS4 and is a next gen game at heart.
I was wondering whatever happened to the X1 will sell better than the PS4 if both systems were the same price because PS4 won last month again even with the price drop.

I cared about the Ryse of Tomb Raider exclusivity deal not coming to PS4 until they announced it is also coming to Xbox 360. Now I don't care anymore because I know it is going to be past gen graphically.
Release 2015 on X1: Ryse of the Tomb Raider.
Release 2016 on PS4: Ryse of the Tomb Raider definitive edition.
Release 2016 on PC: Ryse of the Tomb Raider Master edition.
Gamestop is a disease that is doing far more damage than pirating but both do damage, you can't say one is acceptable because the other is worse. I buy all my games digital because thats how I thank developers for making the games that I love.

So Microsoft got Tomb Raider as exclusive and Sony got Silent Hill from Kojima as exclusive, I think Sony practically fired back hard. Guillermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima working together on a Silent Hill game is far more exciting than Tomb Raider.
