Guys, this is not news, it is PR. Both MS, Sony and every other company (Government, Religion, School, Team, etc.) does this. You don't need to be a Business/Marketing major to understand this. Stop getting angry.
The problem is that both T2 and Sony are pointing the finger at each other and saying "it's not the software, it's the hardware" or "it's not the hardware, it's the software". Neither one of them wants to take the heat for this.
My advice for those who are waiting to purchase is to rent or borrow the game, and test it on your machine. From what I have read, if one copy of the game works, it seems any copy will work.

I get it @ssholes, only a few of the PS3 consoles have the problem. Stop with the FU*King post about, "Mine works great", "No problems here". Shut up already. I want to hear from the people who DO have the problem.
If they would put more resources into it, Home would be out by now.
The people that have owned a Sony VAIO know. Sony's proprietary software can really suck sometimes.

I love the halo series, but I do not like the GTA series. But I have not played Halo 3 (waiting for PC version, I am very patient), and I have not played GTA4, I only played GTA3 and I did not like it.
because Halo 3 was exclusive to Xbox 360. If it was multi-platform...who know which would be KING? I would have bought it for PS3. I have Halo and Halo 2 on PC, and I love those games.
Edit: By the way, the only GTA games I have are GTA2 (the old one) on the pc, and GTA3 on PS2. I'm just not that into them. Thought about GTA4 to see how the multiplayer is, but I did not make the leap...yet.
AMD/ATI has already come out with a CPU/GPU on a single die. I think Intel has one coming out in the 4th quarter. In a few years I can see this becoming a real possibility for gaming also. Smaller case design, less heat produced, and less power needed.
My PS2 was a piece of sh!t. I was always worried it was going to scratch more of my games. That is why I opened up my wallet for the original 20GB PS3. Now I am glad I did.
This article is pathetic. MS said they sold 20% more in the UK. This sounds correct; not a lie. Sony sold more per console in the UK (according to this article). This also sounds correct; not a lie.
