Gotta go fast!

tl;dr: "It's like a movie, it's not a video game, It's boring and I pre-judge it... so it doesn't work", etc..."

This is not a review but an opinion piece, with a decent amount of prejudgement. Fair amount of unmarked spoilers also given. Half of the "review" also reveals main story elements of the game.

Just what I did with Ori and the Blind Forest! These games shouldn't be missed. Cheers!

Thank you. My thoughts exactly.
Despite I have a PS4, but I didn't have a chance to try PSVR yet.

Not really. And the DLC area is accessible after the first few bosses and gives handful of lore to the base game. (Especially on what the Healing Church did.) But it does not spoil anything for the base game.

Check Wallstreet's reply below, I would do that in your case. However if you are looking for the challenge, feel free to finish the game, but keep in mind that to access the DLC you need to kill Amelia. On NG+ a DLC boss almost drove me insane. :) (I hate you Laurenc...

The DLC content is marginally harder in NG+. I'd suggest to play the DLC before you finish the game.

One of my favorite aspect of these games is the discussion of the community about the lore. My jaws drop when I figure out some hidden lore piece, or detailed story explanations from forums/videos.

What r u? A casul?

Joke aside, I strongly disagree. I got frustrated by Demon's Souls back at the time, but Bloodborne made me go back to the series and completed DeS and DS1. They have a nice spot on my favorite games list.

Actually he mentions it on the end by linking a previous article about the details of the different editions. That clearly states that the prestige edition was only available on Amazon UK.

From the article:
Compared to the Collector's Edition the main addition is a:
A numbered 40cm premium Lord of Cinder hand-painted polystone resin figurine

Same. I never saw it, only the Collector's Edition on Amazon France. However that one is the same already: unavailable. Dang... Apocalypse Edition then.

Edit: Apparently for XBox One you can still order the Collector's Edition. Not for PC or PS4 though.

As Mega24 said, I totally agree. just watching the trailer for Layers of Fear gave me shivers. An other promising one will be Allison Road. Looks like PT gave a good influence for the horror genre.

OT: Obviously jumpscares work better in games because you have interaction. Sometimes I just yawn on horror movies because of the cliches they use... but when you have control on the character, if the building of tension is well made... say hello for the nightmares.

Woah... this gave me shivers... :O This trailed is really well made.

Seriously, hats off for these guys. I payed 60 EUR-s for the pre-order package ("Kit du sorceleur" in French) that involved a Witcher T-shirt and a steel-box on top for the game itself. I still cannot decide where I will/should "waste" the stickers that came with the standard physical release. Go go CDPR! You guys are awesome!

I agree with you in the sense that today everyone expects games on their platform of preference to get 11/10 scores, and it's truly a wrong attitude. On the other hand, people are skeptical about Polygon's reviews, as they nit-pick on game elements and features that are based on nonsense, or truly misunderstood attributes.

Examples:
Last of Us: Combat elements (reload time, weapon sway). These were part of the weapon upgrades and meant to be part of character ...

My guess is, if you enjoyed Heavy Rain for it's thriller based narrative elements, you couldn't go wrong to expect a horror-movie experience from Until Dawn. My main motive to buy a PS3 was Heavy Rain, so this title is a no-brainer for me. I just simply like this type of games.

My thoughts too. I don't think I mentioned anything rude or that classified it "trolling". It was sarcastic, that I admit... but not trolling for sure.

Dear God... when will I have some time to focus on my work finally? Too many great games... so small time to play them.

3843d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Wow you are angry. :( And you don't need to worry and lie about you will ever going to play it. ;)
