PS1 had 3 Resident Evil games (1,2 and 3)
PS2 had 4 (RE4, Code:Veronica, Outbreak 1 and 2)
Gamecube had 3 or 4. (RE0, RE4, Code Veronica)

Then I guess Gears 2 is really Gears v1.1
Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 are really Metal Gear Solid v 1.1 & 1.2
Resident Evil 2 and 3 are really Resident Evil v 1.1 & 1.2
These games changed little to nothing in their gameplay but hailed as great games.
Yet this one is somehow exempt from these rules.

What does it matter if they are 'last gen' (even though they aren't). They have sold a ridiculous amount of consoles and made a lot of money.

I agree. Nintendo went against the trend of building a powerhouse console and released a casual console for cheap and everyone wants it.

I think people are just sick of journalistic hypocrisy where they are hyping up the games and then put it on fanboys when they find reason to not hype up a game.
