You know that calling Polyphony Digital Mercedes-Benz of gaming is actually quite an insult.
Mercedes-Benz is not what they used to be. They are no longer on the cutting edge of technology and quality, and they were not for quite some time. Of technology, they are there or at least there about. But quality is nowhere near the best ones.

Well, I would be more excited about Star Ocean... but then again, no next gen JRPG made me happy. On the other hand Persona 4 was JRPG yet, and I can't wait for Mana Khemia 2 and Ar Tonelico 2

Grid's psychics are worst then some 8bit era simulations. It's not that it's arcade and not sim. It's that is completely bonkers and not coherent in any sense of the word.
I actually didn't like gears. It's repetitive, character design hit the center point of my hate for human stupidity (It's beyond stupid), every time i hear Marcus and Co i wanna shove that chainsaw thing up their ass (their character is flatter then their armor and shallower then sheet of paper. And even then it's on the level of hormonally frustrated 15 year old gamer)and graphics made me check cables and my TV (since game basically has 1 color. And it's not design choice. Single color scree...
