I agree. Although Kronos was a good ‘wow’ boss fight.. It had no substance. From start to finish the ‘stranger’ boss battle is much more inticing and better.
"God of War stands on its own as a decent game and entry in the Kratos saga. However, it is missing the elements that made all the previous games such epic experiences. Because of that God of War is good, but not great. There are just no wow moments. Moments like the Cronos battle in God of War 3,or the final battle against Ares in the original game. God of War comes close to delivering those memorable moments, however, it just doesn’t reach that summ...
There will always be outliers. While 8.5 isn’t a bad score by any means.. the game has had overwhelmingly positive scores by many other sites. To each their own.
I think the game went into the right direction of reinventing itself... games like Halo and Gears could learn from this. (Would be neat if Halo went 3rd person).
I thought the ending was the best part about the game... but that’s just because it was something completely different.... I didn’t like how you had to hold square to loot people, pick up guns, open doors, trade, talk to people, pick locks, disarm alarms... the list goes on.
