Sony's only source of revenue is PlayStation, without PlayStation they would be bankrupt. Microsoft on the other hand has Windows, Xbox consoles, Azure, office etc... That generates revenue like money growing on trees.

Because the next console generation after series X1 will probably be called Series X2.
