I highly doubt they would steal TLG. Thats honestly the only PS3 game I really want to see at E3 and play one day.
There are plenty of 3rd party games on 360 that never made it's way to PS3 and never will. MS can steal the show by announcing 1st party and 3rd party exclusives that actually surprise people. If MS has more exclusives at E3 what will you say then?

There will be to many games to decide who stole the show. If anything a Source engine 2 demo could take away the spotlight from every game or maybe a surprise like Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon.

It's popular because it's a fun game with plenty of balance. The story is also pretty good and hopefully does well in Reach.
