Regardless you still paid for the PS3 which has those capabilities. You didn't buy a PSOSoperator.
People you didn't pay $600 or whatever for the OS capabilities. You paid $600 for a PS3 which has those features. And I am pretty certain that since Sony owns the machine and the rights to it they can do whatever they want with it to protect it from hacking.
